The 19th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair is currently underway, and the exhibition booth for Northwest China's Gansu province is surprising guests with its distinguished traditional crafts.

Cloisonne enamel painting

Cloisonne enamel is an ancient technique used to decorate metalwork using enamel, cut gemstones, glass and other materials. Cloisonne enamel painting is a special art form that transplants the royal technique to drawing boards or plates.

Lanzhou gourd carving

To make a piece of gourd carving, a carver has to use a knife or needle to meticulously etch the surface of gourds to reproduce traditional Chinese paintings of landscapes, flowers, birds and figures, as well as calligraphy, before outlining them in ink.

Egg-carving is a traditional folk art that involves engraving and painting. Craftsmen carve various delicate designs on various eggshells, including figures, animals and scenery. It originated with the custom of giving carved or colored eggs as wedding and birthday gifts in ancient times.
