Spring heralds the start of the year’s work, setting the pace for all endeavors.

In Gansu, key projects have been launched with full force, businesses have ramped up production, and efforts to attract investment have accelerated. This surge has unleashed a robust demand for labor in construction, manufacturing, catering, retail, and other sectors.

“Looking for a job? Fill out a form to register, and we provide food and accommodation!”“What’s the monthly salary at your company? Do you have weekends off?”… Recently, the 2024 Gansu Province Spring Large-Scale Comprehensive Talent Recruitment Fair kicked off with great enthusiasm. The recruitment site was bustling and extraordinarily lively, with 311 employers from within and outside the province participating, covering more than 30 industries such as energy and chemical, financial services, education and training, offering 23,000 job positions. The event attracted 5,118 job seekers on site, with 3,052 resumes submitted to participating employers both online and offline, and the livestreamed job presentations attracted 101,000 views.

This is a snapshot of the post-holiday labor market. Corporate recruiters actively court talent, showcasing and promoting job positions, inviting interested job seekers to fill out registration forms; job seekers jump from one employer booth to another, reading recruitment displays, and engaging in detailed discussions with recruiters about salaries, job types, and work requirements.

Spring is the peak period for labor mobility and job changes, as well as a critical time for businesses to resume operations. The department of human resources and social security of Gansu province has rallied the strength of human resources departments at all levels across the province, continuously carrying out spring talent recruitment weeks, female-specific recruitment fairs, engineering-specific recruitment fairs, and other employment assistance services. At the same time, they have opened up diverse job-seeking and recruitment channels such as on-site, online, and livestreaming, ensuring weekly recruitment events, themed activities, and daily job postings. These efforts are aimed at promoting employment for key groups such as college graduates and migrant workers, meeting the labor needs of various employers.
