Liu Junwei, deputy general manager of China Mobile Cloud, announced the launch of the Mobile Cloud (Western) Token Center at the Western Token Innovation Development Forum on Aug 19 in Qingyang, Gansu province, marking China Mobile's first large-scale token operation platform in the western region that integrates western computational resources into the national intelligent economic cycle.

A token is a small unit of text that an AI model processes when reading or generating content.

The "East Data, West Computing" initiative is progressing, with western China's four major computing hubs using clean energy and strategic location to enhance computing capabilities, promoting both scale expansion and green development.

Based on the western region's green computing resources, the Mobile Cloud (Western) Token Center establishes a "token factory," promoting the operation of Token services and creating a unified, efficient AI token system across industries such as industrial manufacturing, higher education, and AI short films.

As China Mobile's first token center in the west, it focuses on computing power aggregation and token operation, integrating regional computing resources for unified management, enhancing efficiency, and supporting the national computing strategy. The center also aggregates resources across computing, large models, and industry applications to create a regional token hub, aiding digital transformation and smart living.

The center has already empowered sectors like government services, industrial platforms, education, and healthcare solutions.
