With late autumn's arrival, Kongtong Mountain in Pingliang city, Gansu province presents a bevy of stunning scenes.
In the early morning, the mountain welcomes the sun in front of the clouds. Before dusk, the views become a pale tint of orange.
Kongtong Mountain boasts dozens of spectacular peaks. It is covered with dense forests rolling from one steep peak to another. Tourists can enjoy the wonderful landscapes, the beautiful trees and flowers, the interesting caves, strange rocks and the moving clouds.
Kongtong is one of the sacred mountains of Taoism. Legend has it that the Yellow Emperor, ancestor of the Chinese culture, once visited Kongtong Mountain to consult a man of wisdom, Guangchengzi, about state governance and healthcare.
