In the eastern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, where the Yellow River makes its first bend, lies the county with the highest average altitude (3,700 meters) in Gansu province - Maqu county.
Maqu county, which is under the jurisdiction of Gannan Tibetan autonomous prefecture in Gansu province, is located in the southwest of Gannan, at the junction of Gansu, Qinghai and Sichuan provinces. It is known as the “Pearl of the Yellow River”, and is the main pastoral area in Gansu province.
In Maqu, the four seasons are distinct, and there are magnificent natural scenery, unique ethnic culture and rich tourism resources. Regardless of the season, one will undoubtedly be entranced by its exquisite beauty and allure.
