Since the onset of spring, the Nanhua Industrial Park in Gaotai county of Zhangye city, Gansu province, has been bustling with activity. Production lines from wind turbine blades, mixed tower power equipment, and tower tube lines are operating at full capacity. The meticulous tasks of layering and casting wind turbine blades, pouring concrete tower components, and welding steel tower tubes are being carried out with precision and order. 

At the installation site of the large-scale wind farm in the northern beach area, the roar of heavy cranes and loaders fills the air as rows of wind turbines rise from the Gobi Desert , forming a “white forest.” The colossal blades dance with the wind, continuously converting wind energy into green electricity. 

Gaotai county boasts a flat and open terrain with abundant wind and solar resources. The effective wind speed hours reach nearly 7,400 annually, accounting for about 84% of the total hours in a year; the annual sunshine duration exceeds 3,200 hours, with solar radiation reaching 6,301 megajoules per square meter. Over 2,000 square kilometers of Gobi Desert are available for wind and solar power development, offering an exceptional advantage for new energy resources. 

The county is dedicated to nurturing and expanding the comprehensive energy industry chain. With ambitious planning, it has established three major new energy sectors: the Gaoyazi Beach Photovoltaic Industrial Park, the Northern Wind-Solar Complementary Industrial Park, and the Photovoltaic Sand Control Industrial Zone, with a total planned installed capacity of 30.5 million kilowatts.
