On Kongdong's largest deer farm, farmer Yuan Weiwei starts his daily routine: cleaning the deer pens, refilling water, and feeding the herd. "Keeping the environment clean is essential for the deer's wellbeing," he explains.
Established in 2013, this pioneering facility spans 18 mu (about 1.2 hectares), housing over 100 sika deer. The farm combines breeding, eco-tourism, and deer product development, complete with modern deer shelters and feed processing facilities.
Sika deer farming offers unique advantages: the animals are easy to care for, have strong immunity, and require less labor compared to traditional livestock. Every part of the deer has value - from antlers to meat, making it a promising venture.
"Our farm fills a local gap in deer breeding," Yuan shares. "The growing market for deer products has not only expanded our business but also boosted income for over 300 nearby households. The future looks bright for sika deer farming!"
