In Minqin county of Zhangye city, over 5,000 government officials are combating desertification using a combination of grass grids and Holoxylon ammodendron. Along the southern edge of the Badain Jaran Desert in Linze county of Zhangye city, mechanized grass-transport vehicles are working in coordination with thousands of workers, laying an average of 13.33 hectares of sand barriers per day. In Zhangye's Gaotai county, a desertification control model based on photovoltaic technology is being adopted, achieving a win-win outcome of clean energy production and sand stabilization.
