Gannan Tibetan autonomous prefecture in Northwest China's Gansu province offers the picture of an idyllic ecological plateau, boasting pristine grasslands, wetlands, lakes, snow-capped mountains, and a host of wildlife.

The Gannan Grassland there is known as a paradise hidden at the intersection of the Loess Plateau and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, telling a story about nature, ecology and harmony. The vast grassland is like a huge and boundless green velvet carpet, undulating and extending out into the plateau.

Lakes of different sizes, such as Gahai Lake, Guma Lake and Dazong Lake, are to be found amid the green grasslands and forests in the region. When sunlight falls on the surface of the lakes, it reflects the piercing blue sky, fluffy white clouds and distant snow-capped mountains.

In Gannan Tibetan autonomous prefecture, there are dozens of peaks above 4,000 meters high, with Cuomei Peak taking the lead at an altitude of 4,920 m.
