The 2025 Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival in Gansu province is set to take place on Sept 23 in an ancient pear orchard, located in Shichuan town, Gaolan county, Lanzhou.

Under the theme "Celebrating harvest, sharing a better life", the event will focus on agriculture, rural communities, and farmers through a diverse range of activities. It aims to display Gansu's progress in agricultural modernization, highlight the appeal of traditional farming culture, and showcase the improved quality of life for local farmers.

The event will include several functional areas designed to engage and inform visitors. A policy promotion zone will introduce the latest agricultural technologies, machinery updates, and subsidy programs. Sixty enterprises will participate in the "Ganwei" specialty agricultural zone, featuring products from the province's eight key industries, including livestock, fruits, vegetables, and medicinal herbs.

An e-commerce livestreaming section will bring together internet influencers and agricultural businesses to boost online sales and support local farmers through competitive promotional activities. Traditional farming techniques and cultural heritage will be on display in a dedicated area, where experts will demonstrate ancient practices such as high-altitude pruning in the old pear orchard. Visitors can also experience rural craftsmanship firsthand in a zone where provincial artisans and intangible cultural heritage inheritors will perform and teach skills such as weaving, embroidery, and paper-cutting.

The festival will further enliven the harvest celebration with vibrant cultural performances. Local artists and farming communities will present folk songs, dances, and traditional rituals expressing gratitude and joy for the season's bounty, inviting all attendees to immerse themselves in Gansu's rich rural traditions.
