Starbucks, in collaboration with the Dunhuang Art Institute, introduced a limited co-branded series of products inspired by five classic Dunhuang murals on Tuesday. The collection includes mugs, thermal cups and embroidered tote bags, designed with cultural motifs taken from Dunhuang heritage. The products are available in stores across China.
The same day, Starbucks' first store in Dunhuang, Gansu province, was transformed into a themed location. The design features reinterpretations of flying apsaras alongside sirens, with images of coffee trees, cloud patterns and fish tails, creating a visual dialogue between ancient culture and modern life. More than 100 other stores nationwide are also hosting themed displays to highlight Dunhuang's cultural elements.

During the National Day holiday, the Dunhuang store will offer a limited-edition customized beverage. The Mango & Passionfruit Frappuccino is layered with golden roasted espresso, designed to visually echo the desert hues of Mingsha Mountain at sunset.
The initiative brings Dunhuang's cultural legacy into everyday contexts, extending its resonance from visual aesthetics to flavors.
