On Feb 1, the Tea-Horse Ancient Street in Yushu township, Hui county, Longnan, Gansu province, was filled with the sound of drums and gongs as a lively series of rural "village gala" events kicked off.
On the freshly decorated street, local residents performed traditional folk arts such as lion dances, yangko dances, and tupipa (a local lute) performances, creating a rich festive atmosphere.
The activities not only provided the community with an enriching cultural experience but also sparked a consumption boom along the ancient street and its surroundings. Local agricultural specialties and delicacies sold well both online and offline, with numerous visitors enjoying the night market, experiencing traditional crafts, and shopping for new year goods. This infusion of cultural vitality and economic momentum has brought new energy to the rural Spring Festival celebrations, strengthening cultural engagement while boosting the economy.
