In a remarkable display of economic progress, Gansu province's import-export scale reached a decade-high in 2024, surpassing the 60 billion yuan ($8.83 billion) mark with the fastest growth rate nationwide. In 2025, the total value exceeded 70 billion yuan.

This impressive growth is underpinned by seamless global connectivity and robust customs support. Since the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Lanzhou Customs has enhanced policy provision, advanced regulatory innovation, and delivered precise services to promote stable, high-quality foreign trade development in Gansu.

A notable achievement occurred on Oct 30, 2025, when fresh-cut roses from Linxia Hui autonomous prefecture were successfully exported to Moscow. As fresh perishables demand swift transport and efficient customs clearance, Lanzhou Customs implemented a dedicated inspection plan and opened a "green channel" for these exports, ensuring smooth, efficient passage.

By addressing enterprise needs and customizing support measures, Lanzhou Customs has helped expand exports across various sectors.

In response to the surge in export orders for Tianshui's fresh products, such as dried mushrooms and chilled vegetables, the Tianshui branch of Lanzhou Customs has implemented a "remote inspection" model. This allows companies to complete inspections via video, reducing the average inspection time by nearly 80 percent.

Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30), Lanzhou Customs has outlined five key priorities: implementing tailored strategies for cities, enterprises, and products; launching "Warm Services for Enterprises" initiatives to strengthen AEO cultivation; guiding the differentiated development of foreign trade comprehensive service companies; holding seminars to help enterprises in emerging industries and agricultural products explore diverse markets; and promoting the improvement of multimodal transportation by road, rail, and sea to provide stronger support for businesses venturing abroad.
