Power services support livestock sector in Gansu county
State Grid Longxi County Power Supply Co has stepped up services for livestock farms in Longxi county, Gansu province, as part of broader efforts to support rural livestock farming and promote local economic development.
The company recently organized employees to visit cattle and sheep farms near Longxi North Railway Station, inspecting power facilities and helping farmers address potential risks that could disrupt breeding operations.
The inspections focused on irregular temporary wiring, damp or damaged cables, faulty protective devices and overloaded circuits connected to high-power equipment. Employees also briefed farmers on safe electricity use and guided them in improving day-to-day power management.
Reliable power has become increasingly important to modern animal husbandry, with ventilation, temperature control, heating and water supply systems all depending on continuous electricity, the company said.
During the visits, staff members also collected information on farms' power demand during peak breeding periods, providing a basis for more accurate load forecasting and targeted supply plans.
"Ensuring safe and reliable electricity for rural animal husbandry is an important part of our efforts to serve local economic development and support rural revitalization," a company official said.
The company said it will continue regular inspections, follow-up visits and safety guidance, while refining supply plans to provide stronger support for the steady development of the local livestock industry.
