Gansu's economy shows positive growth in H1
In the first half of the year, Gansu province's economy continued its positive trajectory, with the regional GDP reaching 695.91 billion yuan, a 4.9 percent year-on-year increase.
The added value of the primary industry was 45.02 billion yuan, up 5.9 percent while that of the secondary industry reached 250.09 billion yuan, up 5.3 percent. The tertiary industry added 400.80 billion yuan, marking a rise of 4.6 percent.
Agricultural production in the province showed promising results, with the livestock sector remaining stable and positive. The added value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries grew by 6.1 percent.
Industrial production saw rapid growth, particularly in high-tech industries. The added value of industries above designated size increased by 6.7 percent. Among the 39 major industrial categories with production activities, 22 experienced growth, covering 56.4 percent of the sectors.
The service sector maintained steady growth, with a 4.6 percent increase in added value. Notably, services to households, repair and other services grew by 24.0 percent in terms of added value, while that of information transmission, software and information technology services jumped 23.5 percent.
The province's total retail sales of consumer goods reached 220.12 billion yuan, up 1.1 percent. Basic consumer goods showed stable growth, while demand for upgraded goods, such as communication equipment and cosmetics, continued to rise.
